Queue & Waiting Area Settings

Open Queue Settings at any time by clicking the gear icon next to the Waiting Area selector in Visitor Flow or from the Waiting Areas table on the Live Dashboard. Settings are organized across three tabs: General, Ticketing & Capacity, and Operating Hours.

1. General Tab

  • Waiting Area Name: The display title of the queue (e.g., “Main Reception”, “Ground Floor Citizen Desk”, or “Pharmacy Pickup”).
  • Active Status: Toggling this off temporarily suspends check-ins across the entire waiting area.

2. Ticketing & Capacity Tab

Maximum Waiting Capacity (MaxCapacity)

Defines the maximum number of visitors allowed to wait simultaneously in Waiting status (minimum: 5, default: 20).

  • When active waiting tickets reach MaxCapacity, the Entrance Kiosk automatically displays a “Queue Full” screen.
  • As soon as a counter calls the next ticket, waiting count drops below MaxCapacity and the kiosk immediately unlocks in real time.

Maximum Ticket Number / Circular Rollover (MaxTicketNumber)

An optional upper bound for sequential ticket numbers (e.g., 99 or 999).

  • Once a ticket reaches MaxTicketNumber, the next ticket issued wraps cleanly back around to 1 (provided ticket 1 is no longer active in the queue).
  • Validation Rule: MaxTicketNumber must always be strictly greater than MaxCapacity. Leave blank for unlimited sequential numbering until the daily reset.

Ticket Number Format (TicketNumberFormat)

Controls how ticket numbers are zero-padded on screens and printed receipts:

Format OptionExample Output (Prefix A)Allowed Range
Plain (Plain)A-1, A-2, …, A-100Unlimited (1+)
2 Digits (TwoDigits)A-01, A-02, …, A-99Requires MaxTicketNumber ≤
3 Digits (ThreeDigits)A-001, A-002, …, A-999Requires MaxTicketNumber ≤
4 Digits (FourDigits)A-0001, A-0002, …, A-9999Requires MaxTicketNumber ≤

Mnemonic Theme (MnemonicTheme) & Pool Capacity Rules

Select an optional theme of cognitive memory words paired with each ticket number:

Mnemonic ThemeWord Pool SizeMaximum Supported Capacity
None (None)—Unlimited
Animals (Animals)100 wordsUp to 100 concurrent tickets
Movie Characters (MovieCharacters)50 wordsUp to 50 concurrent tickets
Cosmic (Cosmic)40 wordsUp to 40 concurrent tickets
Colors (Colors)30 wordsUp to 30 concurrent tickets

Automated Daily Reset (AutoResetEnabled & DailyResetTime)

  • When enabled (default), EntraLane automatically closes any stale leftover tickets at your configured Daily Reset Time (e.g., 00:00 or 04:00 in your location’s local timezone) and resets the ticket sequence counter back to 1 for the new business day.
  • You can also trigger an immediate manual reset anytime by clicking Reset Queue Now inside the dialog.

Two-Stage Calling (RequireExplicitServingStart)

When enabled, clicking Call Next at a Service Desk places the ticket into the Called state first (while the guest walks from the waiting room to the counter). Service duration tracking only begins once the operator clicks Start Serving.

3. Operating Hours (Weekly Schedule)

In the Operating Hours tab, configure your opening schedule for each day of the week (Monday through Sunday):

  • Supports split shifts / lunch breaks via multiple time slots per day (e.g., 08:30 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 17:30).
  • Outside scheduled hours, Entrance Kiosks and TV Displays (whose schedule mode is set to Follow Queue Schedule) automatically display a clean standby screen showing your opening hours.
