Connecting Terminals (Kiosk, Desk, TV)

EntraLane cleanly separates the Management UI (/admin) from the three operational terminal surfaces that run on the shop floor. Every terminal runs inside a standard web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, Chromium, or Fully Kiosk Browser).

The 3 Terminal Surfaces at a Glance

1. Entrance Kiosk (/kiosk/:slug)

Placement: Store entrance, reception lobby, or check-in totem.

Role: Visitors select their service category via touch, scan the rotating QR code with their smartphone, or take a printed paper ticket.

Recommended Hardware: 10”–15” tablet in a stand (iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab), commercial Android touch terminal (Sunmi, Posiflex), or Windows Mini-PC + touch monitor + 80mm thermal receipt printer.

2. Service Desk (/desk/:slug)

Placement: Counter workstation, consultation room, or checkout register.

Role: Staff call the next guest (Space hotkey), start service, recall no-shows, transfer tickets between services/desks, or create walk-in tickets.

Recommended Hardware: Existing counter PC (docked as a narrow browser window alongside your POS/CRM software), countertop tablet, or staff smartphone.

3. TV Call Display (/display/:slug)

Placement: Waiting room, lobby, or main retail floor.

Role: Displays active called tickets (left 60%) and the upcoming queue with live estimated wait times (right 40%), accompanied by audio chimes and spoken voice announcements.

Recommended Hardware: 43”–65” TV or commercial monitor, ideally driven over HDMI by a Windows Mini-PC, Chromebox, Raspberry Pi, or Android TV / Google TV box.

How to Connect Physical Hardware

To connect a physical tablet, counter PC, or TV screen permanently, EntraLane uses cryptographic Device Pairing — meaning you never have to type your administrator email or password onto an unattended public screen.

  1. Generate a Pairing Code in the Admin UI On your admin computer, open Devices (or Visitor Flow), click the action menu (⋮) on the target terminal, and select Pair Device. EntraLane generates an 8-character pairing code (XXXX-XXXX, valid for 15 minutes) and a QR code.

  2. Authorize on the Target Screen

    • On a Tablet or Phone: Scan the QR code with the device camera to open the pairing link and link the device automatically.
    • On a TV or PC without a camera: Open entralane.com/pair in the device’s browser and type the 8-character code.
  3. Done — Persistent Session Established The terminal receives a dedicated cryptographic DeviceToken that silently renews in the background every 30 days and redirects straight into its assigned Kiosk, Desk, or TV Display URL.
